Business Class Airline

I am in a tight situation. I would like to either re-book or refund my airplane ticket from South African airways but I have no idea how or of it is even possible. Please be willing to help me in this question. my schedule is next week and I have no idea even where to start.

Im thinking of jobs to have next summer when im done with high school. Im not going to college, and I really like traveling, so I thought that being a flight attendant would be a good job for me. Does it pay well? If you were/are a flight attendant, what is it like?
I have all the qualifications, so that’s not an issue.

A Friend and I are booked in coach on a Taca Airlines flight from Miami, FL to Guatemala City, Guatemala and I was wondering (since I can find no information on Taca’s site) if we could get upgrades to the Business Class? My mom is a travel agent, and I remember as a child (about 10 years ago) when I flew with her, she would get upgrades for like or . I took a trip to Guatemala City last July and when I asked about an upgrade, American Airlines told me I would have to pay the difference in the tickets (that was 4 for both flights ATL-MIA/MIA-GUA). Is there a way to get upgraded to Business Class without paying the 0 per person (as of now) difference in tickets? I do have about 25,000 miles on United (which is a partner of Taca), but I didn’t sign up for Taca until I took my trip in July. I am willing to pay, but I don’t want to pay THAT much!

I am trying to attain Executive Platinum status, which requires flying 100K miles per year. I am willing to pay for flights just to get mileage but I want to determine the most efficient way to do this. My best airport is Miami but Orlando, Fort Lauderdale, and West Palm are OK too. Are there web sites that offer tools to figure this out?
